Deaf Centered

We always provide in sign language interpreting services for our training sessions, visitors, or anyone else needing an interpreter.

What we are looking for

Knowledge and Skills

Are you knowledgeable about issues facing deafplus adults and with developmental disabilities?

  • ASL fluency preferred with the ability to  adapt to diverse communication needs and styles.

Our Hiring Process

Meet all standard qualifications

Background check, fingerprint clearance, health screening, TB testing are required for all DPAC positions.

Interview Process

Staff training and new hire orientation

New staff must participate in:

  • 20 hours of orientation within 2 weeks of hiring
  • 8 hours of Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 30 days
  • Certified in First Aid/CPR within 30 days (or you won’t be in 1:1 with participants until certified)
  • 30 hours of on-the-job training within the first 30 days


You will be paired with and shadow a more experienced staff member to get you up to the speed!

Continued professional/staff development

We regularly host staff professional development programs by inviting experts from different communities (e.g., advocates for deafblind, client’s rights advocate, or recreational therapist) to teach us new skills and maintain our current knowledge in order to best serve our deafplus clients. You will get a chance to give us your input to invite an expert of your choice to present to DPAC.

All staff must complete at least 12 hours of professional development training per year.
